Midterm Madness

Today I opened up my blogger to blog and realized how absolutely obscenely long it had been since I last blogged. Oh my, it has been too long.

Quick question: Do any of y'all blog from an iPhone? If so, what app do you use? I keep wanting to blog on my lunch break but I don't bring my computer so I can't, I think you get it. I need a portable way to blog!

Anyways, here's an update on my life.

This week is midterms so here's an update on my progress this semester.

Studying on lunch at school.

Sociology: A
Theater Appreciation: A
History of New Orleans: A (but might be a B, waiting on a test to be graded.)
French: A
English: B, because I'm being realistic.

Just an example of my good grades!
A paper for English - which earned me an A!!

Y'all, that is the complete and utter opposite of last semester where I was losing my mind by this point. Each and every day I feel like God is showing me that I made the right decision in changing my major. I can't believe how much I'm enjoying my classes and how well I'm doing this semester. I am making friends in some of my classes where last semester I didn't talk to anyone in my classes. I was miserable, this semester I'm doing amazing. I'm happy, content, and enjoying going to school. I'm not needlessly skipping classes (I have skipped a couple of times, but it has been once to a migraine - I couldn't have driven to school- and twice to study. And always it's been a very conscious decision.) I'm in love with school and can't wait to go each day.

That being said, next week is my mini fall break. I have Thursday and Friday off so I'm taking the weekend to refresh myself.

Family and Friends:
This past weekend my parents came to visit me and I enjoyed it so much. We ate lots of good food, had lots of good hang out and just generally spent some quality time together. I'm so glad they were able to come visit and I just hated to see them leave. They were here from Friday to Monday morning and I'm planning to blog about the trip more separately. But, let's none of us hold our breath on that plan, ok?

Me and My Momma at dinner.

As part of my rejuvenating weekend plan, I'm going to go see our friends in North Carolina next week! I am so totally excited!!! I've been wanting to go out of town on more a vacation for awhile and this weekend will be great. I'll get to see friends, hang out, and just generally be away from my responsibilities and this I look forward to! Sadly, the hubs won't be going, and I will miss him tremendously, but it's only four days and really worth it. Traveling is more than something I just enjoy, it's something that is good for my soul. And, a 12 hour drive will be great time alone, which I enjoy and I love it being just me and the road and the radio. Seriously, it's the best! I can't wait!

And then, there's the hubs. I've saved the best for last in this section. :)  After 9 years at one job, he started a new job a little over a month ago. It's been a change for both of us, and I can't wait to see where it takes us, but sadly that means he won't be joining my trip. :( We have had some fun the past couple of days though! After staying up way too late writing a paper and studying on Monday and classes all day on Tuesday, I was exhausted. There was no way I was going home and studying and I didn't have any tests on Wednesday, so I took the evening off and did something I haven't done in a long time. I went to the movies! I saw one movie alone, but the hubs and I saw Looper together. Seriously, a good time and a good movie. See it if you can!

Well, I have a lot more to write. So much good stuff has been going on my life recently and I want to tell you all about it. But, it's midnight and I need to go to bed. So, I'll be back soon to share with you!
