Day 24: Shopping

I'm a girl who loves to shop. And shopping is the name of the game today. Here's the places I go when I've got some spare cash to spend.

And, of course, anywhere else that catches my eye. But, if you're stuck for somewhere to spend some spare change, try one of these places on. Or better yet since you're at a lost, just send the money my way!

Day 23: Favorite Blog Hop

I have 2 blog hops that tie for my favorite!

Friday's Fancies with Long Distance Loving! This is a great chance to let down your guard, forget about how much money is in your bank account and dream big. You plan the perfect outfit because it's the perfect outfit and don't care how much it costs!

This is the perfect chance to share all of those wonderful pins you've been pinning. And to find a few more pinboards you love!

Skyline Drive

Back, many moons before I started this blog, I went on a solo trip to Colorado Springs. This was one of the best experiences of my life! It really taught me what I was made of and showed me how many mad awesome skills I have! From hotel rooms, to rental cars, to sight seeing activities, I was in charge of it all. And, I got to watch my dear friend get married! That was a definite highlight to the trip!

But, as far as sightseeing goes, I think my favorite part of the trip was Skyline Drive. I saw a sign for it while I was driving to see the Royal Gorge and decided to stop. (One of the beauties of traveling solo...you do exactly what you want!). And by stop, I mean drive the road. And it was awesome.

It's a one lane road. You start your trek from Hwy 50 outside Canon City and you finish your trek in Canon City. It's really narrow and you travel up the side of a ridge. It's really cool. There's not much I can say but to let the pictures speak for themselves. Enjoy.

The View from Where I came from!

The Rocks at the Top!

The Road Before Me!

The View out the side of the car.
Yes, I stopped to take this picture!

One more view of the road!

Oh, and in case you're wondering if this is a legitimate road to travel. Here's proof it is.
A sign about the work...yep...this road is legit!!

I hope y'all enjoyed my little travel down memory lane Skyline Drive! I know I sure did!!

Day 22: Hobbies

Let's talk about our hobbies!

I love photography. Seriously. I have SO MUCH to learn, but I've got Stella, my dSLR and we're in love. I pretty much take photos whenever I can and I love how much I'm learning about photography. I'm also starting to learn more about photoshop and editing my pictures. I'm actually writing this post instead of editing photos! I really can't wait until I'm more proficient with my photography! Until then, I'll just snap snap snap away!

I also love baking. I tend to go through phases in how much I bake, but it is one of my favorite things to do. Especially cakes. I love to bake cakes. And if you follow me on pinterest, you would see many of the beautiful cakes I've pinned. One day I'll be as good as the pictures I'm pinning!

The last hobby I'll touch on is sewing. I've always wanted to learn how to sew, and I finally got a sewing machine and I'm having a lot of fun with it. I've even started my own little etsy shop, All the Cute Things. So, you'll be hearing plenty more about this for sure!

Do y'all have any cool hobbies I should look into?

Day 21: Stress

Today we're talking about what stresses us out. Thanks Katie! I'm not sure if this is my idea of a fun post though.

{ one }
Money. Money causes me stress. I work essentially on 100% commission. I don't go into an office everyday. I don't receive work steadily and I only get paid when I get a report. When things are good, they can be really good. When things are bad. They can be really bad. BUT, and this is an important but, I'm happy. Working this job has helped me be a lot happier. It sure beats my old job.

I'm also getting a real challenge from God on this subject. We've started a series at church called Counterfeit gods. And, Sunday we talked about money. The whole thing really challenged my outlook on how I think about money. I also try to tell myself what Matthew 6:34 says. "Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

{ two }
My health causes me stress. I recently went to my OB/GYN because I was having some problems with my female system. At my appointment I learned I had a polyp in my uterus and possibly have polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). My doctor also wanted me to get some blood work done because he thought I could be insulin resistant.

I've since gone back for my follow up appointment. I have to go back (again) to find out more about the polyp and PCOS, but I did get my blood work back. I found out that we caught the insulin resistance very early, my Vitamin D is low and my B12 is low. These things together really explain a lot of things I've been experiencing that I didn't even know were problems.

So, it's cause a little bit of stress for me. I'm starting to work on changing it though!

So, those are a couple of things that stress me. But, if those are the worst things, life is pretty good!

Day 20: Picture of Yourself

Day 19: Nicknames

Nicknames. We all have them. But as an adult I have a lot fewer people who give them to me.

Most of my nicknames come from Mr. B. And there's a lot of them because they evolve over time.

The current nickname is Pupkins. But, that's sometimes shortened to Pup. Yeah, we're crazy I know. And really, it doesn't end there. Pup can be used as a suffix of sorts. Here's some examples of how it all works.

Use of Pupkins:
Pupkins (n.) - Whatcha doin', Pupkins?

Use of Pup:
Pup (n.) -  Hey, Pup!
Pup (suffix) - You're the silly-pup!

Yeah, I know. It's silly. But it works for us. We use it a lot. And, things are constantly evolving. Here's a quick break down of the evolution to reach "pupkins/pup."

Honey/Cutie
Honey-Bear/Cutie-Bear
Honey-Bexar/Cutie-Bear (x is silent)
Honey-Bexar/Cutie-Bexar (bex rhymes with hex)
Bexar
Blurp
Lurp
Lup
Pup
Pupkins

Again, that was the quick break down. There was many more steps in there. And this didn't happen overnight, it took us six years to make the changes. And who knows where it will be in six more years!

Day 18: Something You Miss

Ah, something I miss. That's the topic of conversation today.

I thought of many things I could put here, but here are two things that come to mind. They are simple things, but isn't life about the simple things?

4 years ago, I moved to New Orleans from Katy, Texas. Y'all know that. But, when you move, you lose some things you never knew life without.

Like, Los Cucos.

I miss Los Cucos.
I miss their Salsa Verde.
I miss their Enchildas Verdes.
I miss their Queso.
I miss Los Cucos.
And, I miss Rudy's. The Worst BBQ in Texas.
I Miss Rudy's.
I miss their Brisket.
I miss their Cream Style Corn.
I miss their Turkey.
I miss Rudy's.
So, it might seem small and inconsequential, but I miss those things. I miss having good Mexican food and good BBQ in my backyard.

Day 17: Regrets

Today, we're getting a little more introspective for the link up and talking about regrets.

Y'all, I try not to live with regrets. Each and every thing that has happened in my life has helped me reach and become who I am today. And y'all, I like who I am today. I like the person I have become. Yes, there are some things I am trying to improve about myself, but as a whole, I like who I am.

But, if I had to pick something to be a regret, I guess I would say I regret not going away to college right out of high school. I wish I would have had the chance to form the love of a college that so many people have. I wish I had that love of a college that I have of my high school. I wish I would have stayed in a dorm and gone to parties. I wish I could have gone to football games and tailgated before them. I wish I would have had those experiences.

Now, all of that being said, I don't regret this too much at all. In the end, my life worked out the way it did because I didn't go away to college. Because I didn't go away to college, I moved to San Antonio. Because I moved to San Antonio, I went back to visit my Grandparents. Because I went back to visit my Grandparents I spent a week with Mr. B. Because I spent that week with Mr. B, we started dating. And here we are, 6 years later married. Living our dream together. I'm happy.

Yes, I would have liked to have gone away to college but, this is the reason why I don't regret the decision. I am where I am today because I didn't. So, there you go.

Day 15: New Bloggers

I'm linking up with Katie today and today is about tips for new bloggers. Here's mine.

{ one }
Blog for the love of blogging. Blog because you like writing. Blog because you like being able to see how you've changed and grown. Find your reason for blogging and blog for that reason and that reason only.

{ two }
This goes hand in hand with number one. DON'T blog for the followers. I know the feeling of getting a new follower. Everyone who blogs knows the feeling. It's a great feeling when someone finds what you have to say worth reading. But, that's not why you blog. You always blog for the love of blogging. You blog for the blank canvas you get to paint with your words. Don't blog for the followers. It makes you fake.

{ three }
And finally, blog in your own voice. Yes there are fabulous bloggers out there and yes, they have tons of followers. But, don't blog like them. There's only room for one them. Just like there's only room for one of you. So, find your voice. Say what you want to say. Be real. And in doing so, you'll get followers. And you'll love blogging all the more!

Day 13: Quotes and Verses

I'm linking up with Katie again! Surprising I know!

Today we're sharing our favorite quotes and verses.

Check Me Out!

****Steps on Soap Box****

Ok, so I really wanted to title this post "A Big Announcement" but I know I can't do that because all of you would have automatically assumed I'm pregnant - Which I'm not. Why is it as women, if we say we have a big announcement people ASSUME (and you know what they say about assuming!) you're pregnant? Why do people think because I'm a woman no other announcement I ever make could be a big announcement? Are all of my other announcements now destined - only because I'm a woman - to never be larger than medium-sized?

****Steps off Soap Box****

Ok, I feel much better after that and will now proceed to make my announcement!

I have an etsy shop!

Yep, after weeks of working to get to this point I've finally got everything in order and have set my shop up! You can find me at AllTheCuteThings.etsy.com! I've been working so hard on this and this weekend I finally got everything in order and yesterday finished setting everything up!

This little shop is my way to play with baby things and NOT need to have a baby! I'm making the ruffle butt onesies and tie onesies you've been seeing around! And, I've got tons more of ideas to put in there too! So, if you get a chance, check it out and spoil that little baby in your life with something cute!

Here's a few pictures of our current offerings!

And I'll be adding more to the shop as quick as I can! Have a great Tuesday y'all and I promise, you'll be seeing a lot more of me now that this is up and running!
