Happy Hour!

Today, I'm drinking water. Because I need to drink something healthy and that's the best thing for you. So, welcome to my boring drink this week. Soon we will be cracking open my favorite bottle of wine ever, and I'll tell you all about it when the time comes, but until then, we'll just concentrate on this cold refreshing glass of water!

What I'm drinking!

Ok, so I really don't have much to say today. I'm tired. My sleep schedule hasn't been right since we got back from vacation. I'm sleeping until noon and staying up until 4 or 5 am. This is what my body naturally does. And it would be such a big deal, but I would really rather be on Mr. B's schedule. I got up at 10 am today...sadly, I'm proud of that. Let's hope by next week I'm back on schedule!

I guess this post is going to be kind of random...I got a printer this week for work...(since I work from home now and stuff...) it's an HP LaserJet M1212nf. Yeah, it's printer love for me. It's one of those all in one things. I'll never fax with it, but it's good at copying and printing, and I love it.

My New Printer!!

Ok, so a fact about me, because I'm sure you'd love to know. I LOVE office supplies. Walking into Office Depot is like coming home. I can wander the aisles for hours. Pens, pencils, post-it notes. Yeah, I love office supplies. So, I am THRILLED that this week involved me finding my way into Office Depot for supplies for work. It was ah-maz-ing. And, $82 later. (And that's $82.00, no change. I spent exactly that impressed the girl at the register.) I'm all decked out in supplies...but not quite...I have more I need to buy! Woot!

Oh, and this week, I joined Mr. B on a trip to Mobile, Al. Yeah, he had to go there for work and I joined him for the car ride. I love this working from home thing. Then we drove all of Interstate 12. YAY! Since, why not. And, it's on my 101 in 1001. Yay for progress!

And, next week, my little sister graduates from college! I'm so excited...I can't believe she's done it, and in only 4 years...I'm really impressed with her...I can't wait to go see her walk across the stage!! It's such an accomplishment!!

Ok, so I think I've rambled enough for one day! I need to get back to work...have a great weekend y'all!!

Road Trip in Review - Day 4, Part 1

So, Day 4 saw Mr. B and I to Austin to start the day. (And there is much to Day 4. I'm seeing several posts, at least 3.) And stop one was the University of Texas.

Now, here's where you need some back ground on the B's. First - I was raised anti-Longhorns. I come from one of those family's where your like of things is determined by political beliefs and the like. So, since the University of Texas is known for being so liberal, I was raised to be anti-Longhorns. But, what's interesting about that is my Grandmother's family were Longhorns fans. Matter of fact, I have at least one cousin who graduated from UT (and University of Tennessee, you can't have "UT" you have the WRONG orange.) So, I wasn't really an Aggie but I definitely wasn't a Longhorn. So, that's part one. Part two is Mr. B LOVES college campuses and stadiums. When traveling we stop at as many universities as we can, see their stadium and go to their campus bookstore so that we can get a pint glass. And, about the pint glass since it came up, Mr. B collects Pint Glasses. They're functional, and we can store them pretty easy so that we can have bunches of them. And when it comes to college glasses, there are a couple of things to know. Price matters, we don't spend a lot of money on the glass. If the only glass they have that we want to spend the money on is an alumni glass, we have no shame. We are alumni from schools we never went to. So, that's a bit about the B's. Now we'll get on to what you really care And more trip stories.

Mr. B with one corner of the stadium.

One side of the stadium.
"Texas Our Texas"
I <3 Texas!

Mr. B with the Scoreboard and stands in the background.

Darrell K. Royal Texas Memorial Stadium
Been there, done that, got the pint glass.

A dejected Mr. B at the gate to Darrell K. Royal Texas Memorial Stadium.
We are not beyond sneaking into stadiums and taking pictures.
University of Texas is not beyond locking you out of the stadium.

So, we saw the stadium, and we walked around the campus. We were also visiting the LBJ Library & Museum so, we walked there. And saw many cool things.

Like this banner for Texas Exes.
Which I think is totally the coolest thing to call the alumni association.
Oh, and it got the song "All My Exes Live in Texas" stuck in my head.
*Shakes Fist* Damn you, song! Damn you! *Shakes Fist*

I never thought I'd shop here. Ever.
See previous, really long paragraph for more info.

This is on the bus stop shelters on the campus.
I think it's totally an awesome way to incorporate their logo.

More of the logo in the wall of a building.

And just because I liked this picture of a squirrel.
Mom, if you're reading this, yes I took pictures of the exotic wildlife.
I promise to shut my mouth about you doing...
...ok...why I am I lying to either of us about it...I'll bug you about it in just a couple weeks!
So, we walked the campus. Saw what there was to see and made our way to the LBJ Library & Museum. I'll tell you all about that in my next post!

Oh, and one final story, just because it fits in this post because of the comment on University of Tennessee having the wrong shade of orange.

Back about a year, year and a half ago, Mr. B and I were doing some shopping to acquire new polos for Mr. B. Now, that alone is really blog worthy. Mr. B just doesn't spend much time updating his wardrobe, but he was motivated and we were doing it. So, we're at JC Penney and we're looking at all of the shirts and we're trying to pick which shade of orange polo to purchase. And, like any good wife-to-be (we weren't married yet) I was trying to help Mr. B in a way a man can understand. We were looking at the shirts and I tell him I don't really like the UT orange, and he comments that he prefers the Tennessee orange. Which I reply is a good choice. That or the Auburn orange. (See ladies, men can understand the nuances of colors. You just have to talk in a language they understand.) As we're holding this discussion, another guy's looking at shirts. We've paused a moment and he looks at Mr. B and tells him, "Now that's a good woman you've got there." Yeah. I'm pretty proud of that moment.

Oh, and also, just because I feel it should be said. Mr. B can see shades of colors. Seriously. He gets that chartreuse exists. BUT, he doesn't understand the need for them. But he has agreed to accept that I really have a justification for owning 17 shades of pink tees. Even if he doesn't understand. And that is why I love him. He is just that wonderful!

Yeah, now this post is done. LBJ Library & Museum coming up!

Road Trip in Review - Day 3, Part 2

On Day 3, after everyone else who was leaving left to go back home, Mr. B, my mom & dad, sister & I, were left with some time on our hands. So, I suggested we head to the Wildseed Farm in Fredericksburg to enjoy a little bit of the nice weather and the beautiful flowers! We made the drive, the boys in one car, us girls in the other and set out for a good ol' time.

We saw beautiful flowers like these:
Red Spread Lantana
One of My Favorite Flowers!

Texas Bluebonnets!
My most Favorite Flower!!!
When they bloom in the spring it's like God planted them just for me!

The Aggie Bonnet.
Or, a maroon bluebonnet.

Betty Boop Rose.
Yep. My New Flower Love.
Yeah, totally because I'm Betty.
And love Betty Boop.

I don't know what flowers these are, but I really like the picture.

Yeah, I love this of my favorites!
The cabbage, the water, the flowers. Yep...wonderful!

I just like this picture too!

And I like this one too!

Yep, more picture coolness...

Ooo...pretty butterfly, pretty flower!

And, more picture love!
And these are the people I spent the day with:
L to R: Mr. B, My Momma, My Daddy, My Sister-Bear!
Yeah, and sadly the photo is overexposed...I'm working on learning the new camera.
And, we enjoyed DELICIOUS Peach Ice Cream....YUMMY!

My Sister-Bear enjoying her Ice Cream.
My Dad's in the background, long finished with his.
Mr. B & My Ice Cream, yeah they're kissing!

And, because I know you're all interested, here's me & Mr B at the Wildseed Farm!

Mr. B & I relaxing after our Ice Cream!

Mr. B & I enjoying the bluebonnets!
After we finished up at the Wildseed Farm, we all drove home. When we got home we ate leftovers from Magic Time Machine and watched Man On Fire. We really enjoyed our time with my parents and just hanging out on a Sunday afternoon! I really enjoyed it. After the evening was over, we headed over to my aunt and uncle's house because we were staying the night with them. We enjoyed a little bit of conversation with my aunt and cousins and then it was off to bed for the night. We had a very exciting Day 4 ahead of us and needed to get on the road! But, more about that in another post!

Happy Hour!

Today I'm going to be drinking this:

It's nice and sweet, techinically a "malted beverage" and delish!
Oh, and I found it online here for $5.
Yeah, that's a habit I can support!
But, I will only be enjoying that after the hubby and I do lunch:

I'm feeling like this...
....must. finish. post.

Then we will be seeing this:

Yep, Can't wait!
And, you MUST buy this CD:
Hubby surprised me with this CD - LOVE!!
Oh, and Better Than Revenge is on Repeat in the B's house!
"She's not a saint, she's not what you think she's an actress.
She's better known for the things she does on the mattress."
Lovin' those lyrics!

Oh, and if you are looking for a new make up palette if you haven't tried it already, try this:
Urban Decay Vegan Palette

Ok...Mr. B is finished almost ready - I must go get ready! Have a great Friday Ladies! You can bet your bottom dollar I am!!

Road Trip in Review - Day 3, Part 1

Ok...I love taking pictures - a lot. So, Day 3 of our trip is going to be in 2 parts too. I want to post all of my pics, but I don't want to overload a single post too much...hope you don't mind. If not, deal - it's my blog!

So, day 3 started with going to church. My Uncle Kerry is a pastor and we went to his church. It's always great to go to church with the family! After that we headed to lunch at Little Gretel and we had a great time. It was a really pretty day and we sat outside and enjoyed the beautiful weather! And it was WONDERFUL! NOLA doesn't have many days or places to eat outside and I enjoyed the chance we got to eat outside. And the natural light allowed some really pretty pictures.

Sarah, my sister & Garrett, her boyfriend.
Note about Garrett: He's from Minnesota. He hates me, I'm a Saints fan.
Yeah, I like him though. Gotta love some who hate's you because you're a Saints fan.
I hope he watched this past season and was able to let the past go. :D
But, I like him...I have to, my sister does!
Oh, and one other note. My sister is 5'9'' or 5'10''. Garrett's 6'6''. He's tall.
Especially if I say so, Mr. B is like 6'3''...yeah...

Mr. B & Kerri, my cousin.

Larrilyn, my cousin.
I LOVE the depth of field on this photo...ok...I just love this photo...

I really enjoyed Little Gretel. The food was delicious and offered a chance to eat healthy. They offered salads and half sandwich options. It was wonderful.

The Monte Cristo.
It was awesome. And it was grilled, not fried!!
SO much better than the Bennigan's version I liked so much!

A cool picture...more fun depth of field stuff going on!

After spending the weekend together as a whole family, I made us all get together and have a family picture. We drove out to my Aunt & Uncle's to get the picture, but they left to take my uncle to the airport before we could get there. We still took it without them, but wish they could have been in it!

Here we all are! I LOVED seeing these people!

Funny faces!
After we took 2 pictures (which most of the fam didn't appreciate!)
they insisted on a third! I KNEW something was up.
But, I set the timer and climbed back into the picture.
Above is what we got...funny faces!
After this my Aunt Sabrina and Uncle Scotty took off for home. It was sad to see them leave, but it was great seeing them. The last time I saw them was at our wedding. And I didn't really get to see them then! (Y'all know how weddings go!) And it had been even longer since seeing my cousin Victoria. Yep, this was a great weekend and we had a great time! Now, it was time for us to spend some time with just my parents and sister...more about that in the next post!

(I'm really starting to hope y'all do leave me with all of this talk of vacations! :D)

Road Trip in Review - Day 2, Part 2

Well, here's the second part to the Day 2 post. What I'm not picturing here is everyone just hanging out at the house and spending time together. It was more family fun and my cousins even enjoyed the chance to play with my new camera.

After we all had a chance to let our food settle, it was time to head out for a snocone. (For all of my NOLA followers, that's what they call a snoball in other parts of the country...I still think snoball sounds ridiculous. But, that's not the point.) It's a requirement when were in San Antonio to visit my parents that we also visit the snocone stand. Ms. Sandy is our snocone lady and she's wonderful. Matter of fact, she even sent Mr. B and I a wedding present when we got married. That's how you know you're close to your snocone lady. So, we have to go have a snocone when we're in town.

Ms. Sandy and her snocone producing machine.
She's an ARTIST! She makes THE BEST snocones.

Part of her SnoCone magic supplies...
Her SnoCone making machine...mmm...
This machine makes THE BEST ice!

My SnoCone.
It's Wedding Cake flavored.
My Usual. Mmm...I want one RIGHT NOW!

My Dad (and Mr. B in the Background!)
Ok...maybe my dad's face isn't stuck in the face from the previous picture.
BUT - it is stuck in some kind of funny face!
He had Key Lime Pie. Another delicious flavor at Ms. Sandy's!
My Cousin Hannah - she apparently needed a little help!

My Mommy & Daddy!
After SnoCones, I made my first of several required visits to Whataburger. Since the closest one to me is in Baton Rouge (an hour away!) I always make a point of stopping at Whataburger while traveling...and I only order one thing there. A Number 5. It's the bacon cheeseburger meal. And I only order my meal one way. I say this everytime:

Yes, I'd like the number 5 please. No lettuce, tomatoes or pickles. Mustard and Mayonnaise. Sweet Tea.
This is what a Bacon-Cheeseburger, no lettuce tomatoes or pickles.
Mustard and Mayonnaise. Looks like. Pure Heaven.
And, since I had some time, I met up with my dear friend Mark. Yes the one who visited me for Mardi Gras. It was awesome. He's the only friend from San Antonio I still keep up with. And it was great seeing him!

Mark regaling me with some story...probably about bowling.
Ladies, he's single, in a band, (is an awesome musician!),
and is in the Bowling Hall of Fame - he bowled a 300 at 18 yrs old.
Yep, he's pretty cool.
Then, Mark went home and Mr. B and I called it a night. We had to get up for church the next morning. Yay! But, more about day 3 of the trip in the next post!
